LAAC Workshop – Managing the Stress of Caring – Reading
A workshop for Berkshire foster carers, adopters, kinship carers and family members of children and young people who are no longer living with birth parents.
Research shows that caring for children with traumatic early life experiences can often lead to chronic stress and compassion fatigue. This workshop will go through day to day self-care strategies (based on alternative & complementary therapies) to help with the stress of caring.
We are delighted to welcome:
Andrea Warman and Liz Lark – Authors of ‘Caring with Vitality – Yoga and Wellbeing for Foster Carers, Adopters and their Families’: Everyday Ideas to Help You Cope and Thrive.
Rasunah Sellars – Holistic Therapist from ‘Green Leaf Therapies’ to talk about guided meditation, disassociation and EFT technique.
Thursday 2nd May 2019: 10am – 2.30pm.
Cost: £5 per parent/carer, £20 per practitioner (light lunch included).
Thanks to funding from the National Lottery Community Fund we are able to offer this workshop at nominal cost to Berkshire parent/carers. Other areas of PSC work receive no funding at all, for example our Helpline, so we are always grateful for any donations however large or small.
Please note that we cannot accommodate children at this event.
