Every now and again, we receive a unique insight into the difference that our work makes for families of children with SEND. One of the parents who we’ve supported for a little while through our Diagnosis Support Service recently wrote to us to tell her story, and she’s given us permission to share this here:
I have been crying this evening but not out of sadness. I’m just so thankful for you, Lynn, Ruth Moyse and PSC. You have changed our lives and the support has been out of this world! Last Monday, Ruth went to the school to watch my daughter and she did some work with her today. She had the meeting with me, the SENCO and my daughter’s teacher. It turns out that she could see what we see! I could have cried in the meeting room!! She gave the school lots of tips and advice and just confirmed everything that I know! The teachers found out some stuff that they had no idea about! And as you know Lynn has been there for us for so long now – she’s just amazing! I really wish I could get you all something for Christmas that would show how thankful we are, I want to give you the world! Thank you, thank you, a million times!’
It’s so humbling to receive such feedback, and as we slow down into the Christmas break, it helps us as staff and volunteers to recognise the difference which we make.
