Parenting Special Children has set up a support group for adoptive parents of children and young people who have experienced developmental trauma.
Research shows that Adopters face unique challenges in their parenting that are often not understood by well-meaning family and friends.
Aims of the Support Group:
- Provide a safe and supportive environment to share experiences and explore the unique challenges faced by Adoptive parents
- Establish support/social networks for Adoptive parents
The support group runs during the Let’s Get Creative sessions for adopted children. Adoptive parents are welcome to attend the sessions without a child attending Let’s Get Creative. In this case please email firstname.lastname@example.org so we know you are coming along.
If you would like to be involved in this group, and contribute to ideas on how this can be a safe supportive space for sharing experiences and gaining support from each other, please call Zobia Kalim on 07557 102623 or email email@example.com
