Attachment-focused Re-Parenting Course for Birth Parents/Families – Zoom

This 7 week course is aimed at birth parents/families of children affected by trauma through adverse childhood experiences like domestic violence, family break-up, bereavement, parental mental health issues and/or substance misuse. It has attachment theory underpinning all modules.
**Please read the event description for details of eligibility to attend and how the event will run. You must answer the questions on the booking form for your booking to be accepted. This is so we can provide required anonymised data to the funder.**
The course runs on Wednesday mornings between 10am and 12pm on the following dates: 9th, 16th and 23rd October, break for Half Term, 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th November.
Topics covered include:
- Impact of trauma in early childhood
- Symptom overlap with Autism/ADHD/Sensory Processing
- Attachment Theory and Internal Working Models
- Managing Stress
- Understanding & managing behaviour
- Life story work
- Working effectively with schools
- Managing the Stress of Caring
Cost: £50 per person. An additional family member may attend for free with a paying attendee, when accessing the event from the same device. Please note that you need to answer the questions on the booking form as we can’t accept your booking without them.
The usual cost of this course is £250. Thanks to funding by the National Lottery Community Fund it is available at a massively reduced cost. It will be facilitated by PSC specialist parenting practitioners Nuala Hemphill and Mary van der Merwe.

Zoom will ask you to register for the event, and sign in, so please allow a few minutes for this before it starts. The event link, Meeting ID and Passcode will be in your Eventbrite registration confirmation email. Please check your junk folder! A reminder of the login details will be sent on the morning of each session.

Please note that we require 7 days notice of cancellation to provide a refund. Eventbrite booking fees are non-refundable. Invoices are only available for Professionals booking for families.
For Professionals paying for bookings for families: To request an invoice, please book in as usual by clicking the ‘Reserve a Spot’ button and selecting the required number of tickets. Complete the relevant details, and then at the bottom of the page (underneath the credit/debit card icons), you will see that it says ‘Other Payment Options’. Click ‘Show’ just underneath, then click the ‘Send Invoice‘ button which will appear. We’ll then send you an invoice. Please note that if you request an invoice and don’t pay on time, and the attendee doesn’t attend, you will still be liable for payment of the invoice.
