Autistic Girls Boating and BBQ
This is an event specifically for Autistic Girls (aged 8 to 18) who live, or attend a school, in Berkshire.
Siblings/younger children are welcome to attend for arts and crafts activities and the BBQ (no boating).
There are 3 sessions available:
Session 1: 2.15pm – 3pm
Session 2: 3.30pm – 4.15pm
Session 3: 4.45pm – 5.30pm.
The boats will be supervised by trained male scout leaders and we require one female parent/carer helper per boat. PSC specialist parenting practitioners and staff (Ruth Moyse, Amy Plumer, Ruth Pearse and Kelsey Rumens) plus some sea scouts, will also be available to help.
The following charges apply:
Child/Young Person Boating: £5 per session (non-refundable). Please book this ticket in the CHILD’S name.
Parents/Carers/Boating Helper/Siblings: Free
There will also be a paid for BBQ from 4pm. Costs: £2.50 for burger/hotdog/veggie option, £1 for drinks, 50p for crisps.
Refreshments and arts and crafts activities will be available during the boating sessions. Those boating will need a change of clothes and a towel, and shoes are likely to get wet. In the event of windy weather, making boating unsafe, there will be outside games instead.
Ticket sales will end on Thursday 5th September 2019.
The Activity Centre is wheelchair accessible and has a lift. Parking is available at the venue and at St Peter’s Church.
Please let us know if you book places and then cannot attend as we can then allocate your places to waiting families.
We are very grateful to Children in Need for providing funding for this activity. Other areas of PSC work receive no funding at all, for example our Helpline, so we are always grateful for any donations however large or small.
