Social Interaction Group for Children and Young People: Senior Group: Aged 11-16 (School Years 7-11) – Zoom

A 6 week course to support young people who are awaiting an assessment for Autism or ADHD or have already received a diagnosis.
The course is for young people in mainstream education aged 11-16 (school years 7-11) who either already have a diagnosis of Autism and/or ADHD or are on the Berkshire CAMHS waiting list for assessment. 

AIMS:

To develop the confidence and emotional well being of young people through meeting regularly with peers and exploring the social world together. The course will focus on issues including knowing ourselves, friendships, self-esteem, independence and self advocacy.

This programme has been made possible due to funding from Berkshire West NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which serves Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire and is provided as part of the Berkshire West Autism and ADHD Service in partnership with Autism Berkshire.

Therefore, only children who are registered with a GP surgery that is part of the Berkshire West NHS CCG will be able to access this course. To check your surgery please click here


Dates: Mondays: 24th and 31st January, 7th, 14th and 21st February.

Time: 4.30pm – 6pm

Cost: No charge as the course is funded by Berkshire West NHS CCG

We are anticipating a high demand for this service. If we are oversubscribed for the Jan-Feb sessions, we will operate a waiting list for future Social Interaction Skills Group courses.

We recommend that parents/carers have attended or attend an Autism and/or ADHD pre or post assessment workshop or course run by PSC in order for the young person and the family to have the opportunity to learn together.


Covid Precautions
Please do not attend if you/your child or any other member of your household is unwell.
All adults and secondary school age children are required to do a lateral flow test 48 hours prior to attending a PSC event, and test negative.
Please note we will check your temperature on arrival. Anyone found to have a high temperature or displaying signs of being unwell will not be able to join in.
