Social Interaction Group for Children and Young People: Age 8 -11 (up to school year 6)

A new 6 week course for children, registered with a Berkshire West NHS GP surgery, who attend mainstream education, age 8 -11 (up to school year 6), who either already have a diagnosis of Autism and/or ADHD or are on the Berkshire CAMHS waiting list for assessment.


To develop the confidence and emotional well being of young people through meeting regularly with peers and exploring the social world together. The course will focus on issues including knowing ourselves, friendships, self-esteem, independence and self advocacy.

This programme has been made possible due to funding from Berkshire West NHS Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), which serves Reading, Wokingham and West Berkshire and is provided as part of the Berkshire West Autism and ADHD Service in partnership with Autism Berkshire.

Therefore, only children who are registered with a GP surgery that is part of the Berkshire West NHS CCG will be able to access this course. To check your surgery please click here

Times and Dates of the course: Face-to-face sessions on Mondays after school 4:30pm – 6:30pm, 13th September to 18th October. Application deadline is the 22nd August 2021

Venue: To Be Confirmed.

Cost: No charge as the course is funded by Berkshire West NHS CCG. If the group decide on any additional activities there will a small cost charged.

We recommend that parents/carers have attended or attend an Autism and/or ADHD pre or post assessment workshop or course run by PSC in order for the young person and the family to have the opportunity to learn together.
